Ranging the Park

June 16, 2012 (Afternoon)

Exercise Type: Run

Weather: Really nice

Comments:
Ran my long run at Rockburn Park this week. Tried to cover all of the trails and got most of them. I was pretty surprised at how extensive they were. They sort of vary in width, surface and traffic as you travel different ones, which I thought was kind of cool. The first 40 minutes especially reminded me of the safari run from Florida, which was awesome too. Found a water fountain and some port-a-johns, so if I have a mid-run crisis, I know where to go. Also, I scared a fox, four rabbits, and a groundhog off the paths I was running. I've never seen a fox up close like that before.

Anyway, kind of a ramble, but I didn't have any way of mapping this so I figured 8 minute pace is a conservative enough estimate that I traveled at least that distance. Kind of slow but I'd rather underestimate than overestimate and long runs have never been real fast for me. So this one goes in the books as fifteen and a half.

Welcome to all the freshmen, glad to see you're logging!
