Exercise Type: Swim
Weather: Indoor
Comments:
Woke up feeling a bit more tired than usual, but I shook it off and started the workout anyway.
WU: 400, 4x50 drill. I was feeling pretty good until I got in the water. The 400 warmup started out smooth and felt proper. But soon I realized that I was having difficulty counting laps. My shoulders were very sore and my mind was not at all focused on any one thing. For the drills, I did 2xfist and 2xcatchup w/out buoy.
4x300 @ 5:00 even breath3. 4:58, 4:59, 5:00, 4:58. I was feeling slow and sluggish. I had no energy to spare. For me, these should have been around 4:30. Something is really wrong. Yesterday, with tri club, we had sprints which may have worn me down. Also, I ran in the heat of the day.
3x200, breath5. 3:22, 3:17. Could only do two of the three. I had trouble counting laps and focusing. Same as previous set. Breathing every 5 wasn't happening. I couldn't get enough air and was lucky to breath every 3. I just need rest, so I gave it up.
But before I gave up, I noticed:
1. My open turns felt smooth and seemless
2. Pushoffs were strong
3. Wrists held at proper angle
4. Strokes finished with a solid wrist.
This is one workout that I may have to skip if I can't get anytime over the weekend to do it.
