Exercise Type: Run

Comments:
Ran from Veale after the Processing presentation. It was really nice out, and actually pretty hot at some points. I was kinda dreading it. Have had late nights the past 3 nights, and it is catching up. Didnt feel that great today but running gets things moving. Ran whatever pace I felt was appropriate. Saw Ethan at the Mayfield Gas station perfect timing. Picked it up on the way back since I actually felt good. Did a strider on the indoor track when I got back as well, just to see what it was like to go fast.

Essentials: Stretch, L7, roll

Legs feel good after not running yesterday still felt pretty loose. Veale was really empty today. It always feels so weird when no one is around.

The banquet last night got real emotional. Good things were said and all the people that put the time in finally got a chance to speak their mind and give back to everyone. I didnt cry, but my voice was wobbly when I was speaking. It felt weird to give my speech, since I wasnt around this season. I basically said that you should cherish every race, practice, lift, run whatever, because you never know when it will get taken away. One of the toughest things for me was to look out the window when I was in the hospital, and accept that I would never be able to race for CWRU anymore. I had no choice, but thats what happened and I needed to learn how to move forward from that. I was so invested in this outdoor season. I paused today, an looked up at the UAA banners above the track. I remeber staring at those for an entire hour while I aqua jogged when I was hurt, stating to myself that I was good enough to compete with our league. I would make it there one day. It does hurt to not be able to achieve those marks or those goals that I set for myself that I know I could achieve one day. I would never trade that though for all the opportunities I did have, and the friends and memories, and the people I helped along the way. We are here to run and to succeed, but sometimes, for some people, it isnt all about the times or the point. That is why I love track. We have such a big team, everyone with a unique role and talent, and we can all come together under one common goal. It truly is an amazing thing.

I often try to sum all of this kind of stuff up in my logs and what not, but looking back at the last 4 years here, I cannot use words to describe it. It was an entire experience unlike any other, and one to remember forever.
