Race Report:
Was in Corral 1, but needed to use the restroom (15 minutes before 7am start time) and ended up in Corral 7.

Travel to the event (did travel affect performance?) - Was at Karen's housewarming BBQ the night before and did not get enough sleep. Slept a little after midnight. About 4-5 hours of sleep. Woke up from phone call from Allan at 5:30am. Was scrambling to get everything together and forgot to bring energy carbohydrate drink. Drink a 12oz Vivace white velvet before the race and 1 glass of water. Got to the event around 6:30am and took Aurora

Sleeping patterns: Not enough sleep before the race (~4-5 hours)
Eating habits in the days before the race: Did not eat well before the race. Ate some BBQ, chicken, that could have been undercooked. Cookies, not too much carbs. 2 alcoholic drinks. Did not feel stomach pain during the race, but it hurt after
Stress levels in your life in the days before the race: was working at Fred Meyer's quite a bit. Was trying to fit in running sessions.
Preparations for the weather conditions: It was pretty hot as the race went on
Your warm up and its effectiveness: Did not get to warm up too much, about 2 min. of stretching
Thought process on the start line: Was late and had to figure out how to get into the corral. Try not to cross the line too early with too many people in the area
Motivation level for the race: Pretty excited
Nutrition plan and execution: Stick to a better plan and stick to it. Bought a book a week before, but did not get a chance to read it
Hydration plan and execution: Stopped at almost all the water stations (about 8 or so) and should avoid the Gatorade and sticky drinks. Stopped at the last water station instead of jogging and drinking.
Pacing strategy: Had a good pace and kept up with the old grandma till about the 7-8 mile mark close to Seward Park and then slowed down significantly at the hill. Slowed down significantly at the Mercer Street finish line
Race decisions made which were helpful: Stayed on the inside track, Zeroed in on a guy with a good pace, and should mentally be able to keep up
Race decisions made which were not helpful: Should have reconfigured my ipod to get good songs to pump me up. Raced with it in my hand and changed songs while running. Maybe should have used Bose headphones.
Was really sore the next day at work on Sunday and after the race.
