Comments:
first tempo of the year. i think tempos have always been one of my better workouts. was in group 2. lost my watch so i figured it could be a real test of my ability to sense pace. supposed to be 5:50-6:00 pace. i felt really good today. the first 3 miles were probably 5:55 ish avg. but after that hamm wasn't feeling so hot and coach said not to let anyone finish alone, so i told bryan to try and stay on pace, and i'd stick back with hamm. unfortunately we slowed down to about a 6:20 pace the rest of the way in. i think i could have at least finished at the 5:55 pace, but helping hamm finish is a good cause. no biggie. first tempo. i'm trying to play it safe early this year. i didn't do the time trial, i had a sub-par first workout, and i've never really performed well at intersquad, but i'm giving myself time to get where i want to be for lots of reasons. i think barnes and lanese are on the same page as me too. trying my best ben yavitt impression. i should eat more corn pops.
