Exercise Type: Run

Comments:
I guess I had my first bad day. I had been thinking and worrying about this run since Sunday (as I often do with workouts) and my anxiety, in conjunction with the 1000-degree afternoon, may have made a mountain out of a mole hill. The plan was to do a six mile tempo with three total miles of warmup and cooldown with Sam, Griffin, Tristan, Aidan, Darren, Gabe and Coach setting the pace on his bike. Though I hydrated all day, and tried--perhaps too hard--to get a good night's sleep, I soon felt fatigued and unfocused as we turned onto MacArthur boulevard and began to pick up the pace. I stayed with the group until Potomac avenue at which point Gabe's calves tightened up and Anthony asked me how I felt. I replied negatively. He had us jog for a little bit on the CCT and then do a half-mile pick up to the water fountain. Since Gabe was feeling worse, I was told to go ahead and tempo to River and jog back to school. I felt like the same mediocre freshman, trying to "stay with the group" as two years ago. At least now I'm sore.
