UGH. Okay, well that was a longer hiatus than I intended. Well I ended up taking 3 days off because I wanted to heal my foot after getting a bad blister last week. Turns out on the day I was supposed to get back in the saddle I had a big paper due the next morning, so I stayed glued to the computer all day and hacked that out. Then friday came, and (since I pulled an all-nighter the night before) I decided to conserve energy and not run. THEN Saturday came, and I had my Corp initiation party that night slash recording Christmas songs with Superfood so I had a full day...not that I couldn't have gotten a run in, I kind of just neglected it, and since I was still tired from the all-nighter the day before I thought it would be best. SO basically this all spawned from a damn blister...but it was still totally my fault.

Anyways, let's get to the run. Well it was a stupid one indeed. I told myself that I was going to do an easy 5 or so to the boathouse and back on the canal path. Turns out that about a mile in I saw this fast guy with split shorts and no shirt in the distance...and basically since I never see anyone near as fast as me on the trails I wanted to catch up to see who it was. Anyways, it takes me about 10 minutes but I finally catch up to him and end up passing him...and when I pass him not only do I realize that I don't know him at all, but I've also completely winded myself trying to pass him. Anyways I try to save face and not immediately slow down, so of course I keep killing the pace all the way to the boathouse. Ended up getting there in 15:30, which is like 6:15 average pace. LIke literally f*ck me. Here I am not having taken a single stride in an entire week and I clock a faster 2.5 than I have in a year. Anyways, of course I rested there and then had a lot of trouble getting back. I stopped twice...pretty ashamed. But whatever. At least I don't feel like I got any injuries (although I probably deserve one), and I don't feel too sore or tired. Will definitely run a bit tomorrow, hopefully in the morning before my 11 o'clock shift. Alright.
