Dearest Running-Loggers/Team,
Just wanted to say I miss you all and that you're on my mind more than you may realize. It's been awhile since I seen you, I don't know some of you, and that's definitely a downside to being so far away, but you're quite close in my mind still. It's so exciting keeping up with results and hearing from Anthony how incredible you all are and how much continues to change and happen. Seems like you all are accomplishing some incredible things this season and as always, I'm so so proud. To those healthy-cherish it, enjoy it, and embrace every run as an opportunity to push each other and keep on in the quest to be the best that you can be. And run with each other, utilize those butt slaps and shoulder pats and let each other know you’re there, because sometimes that’s half the battle. To those injured (and I believe there's quite a few now?)-I know it's shit. But please know that this isn't the end of your running career and more than anything please please believe it. I know it's hard to keep perspective sometimes, but there really is so much goodness ahead. Whether you have more seasons in high school, continuing on running in college, or finding other ways to run that make you happy, there's more than right now cross training or in the pool. But what you do now will effect the future, so keep at it with all your heart and know that your team and beyond is with you right now. Frosh-you're in for a wonderful ride, enjoy it. And to the seniors- I’m so proud of how far you all have come and I’m so excited for everything you’re going to become. You truly are such a wonderful class and it’s clear that a lot of the success that’s come this year is because of your work throughout the past 4 years. That’s how it works, really. So celebrate how far you’ve come in your athletic careers, the people you’ve become, and the goodness that will manifest itself in the future. It’s remarkable how much this place becomes a part of you. I knew I was part of something incredible, but didn’t realize how much I’m impacted by all of you, the program, the school, and of course, Anthony, until you’re removed a bit, or completely. I think of you all running 8 hards, 10x1000s and mountain runs, workouts I'd never even imagine were possible completing as a freshman. I’m fortunate because I love my program here, and I’m fully invested in my team or else I probably wouldn’t last. But so much of what I’m doing here is because of you all, Anthony, and GDS running/community. So, I guess I’d like to thank you all as well. I know I’m rambling, sorry, and I’d be quite surprised if you’ve made it this far. I’m here if you need anything anytime at all, too. Have a wonderful remainder of the season, enjoy, celebrate, and cherish each other. I know you’ll make the most of it.
So much love,
Leah
