Weird weather today. It did not feel like fall. It felt like the beginning of spring. That other perfect temp (along with the beginning of fall). The weather that rejuvenates me for an outdoor season after being cooped up inside for the winter. It reminds me of getting ready and jumping into the steeplechase. Heading down to the south on long bus trips... I guess I missed that last season, so it felt amazing today. Anyways felt good out on the roads. Definitely picked up my pace as I went along. Coming back on Silver I felt pretty good. I was thinking about Regionals, and the race and what we went through last year. Ankle was good too feels fine once I get moving, but it is tender to touch. I felt very in sync today though, which I was happy with.
Essentials: Stretch, ankle band
Good stretch outside. Even though I ran at like 3ish, the sun was already starting to head down. The sunset over the valley is awesome everyday. Fit in some pretty good mileage this week so far. I remembered that the Turkey Trot is coming up. Hopefully some IHS people will be around.
Saw the regional results when I got back. Noticed it was pretty much the same finish as 2010 and 2011. I know how hard we worked those seasons, knowing we were always on the cusp of that birth to Nationals. It just didnt pan out in the end, until last year when we went in knowing we were ready. Its just a matter of that I guess... I just hope everyone ran their hardest and was satisfied at the end, knowing that as a team they worked together to accomplish something great. Thats what matters in the end.
Our class came in one year after a nationals trip and we missed out at regionals in the same way. We had to fight all the way back for 3 years to get back to that stage. You sophomores heard from us and saw how much work it takes to get to Nationals. Newer generations need to realize that if you want to take the long road back. It is definitely worth it.
