Comments:
Did the 600m time trial. Goal was 1:40, figured I'd probably come through 63-64 for 400 and try to hang on.
Went out well behind the pack with Garrett Dunlap, still came through 30.x for the first lap. Through 400 in 63.x which was about right and felt like I still had enough in me to push the last lap. Passed Garrett on the outside during the first turn and just did my best to hang on from there. Wound up at 1:38.9 so that was a nice surprise. Still farther back than ideal but at least I have some speed to work with.
Teamwise it seemed a pretty good day as well so that was nice.
Then I remembered that we had a workout afterwards. 6x200 @ 2 seconds slower per lap than race pace from the time trial. So for me, that would have been 34.high I guess. Everyone else seemed like the were going too fast so I chilled off the back for most of them. Pushed the last one in though.
Splits: 34-5 ish, 35.01, 33.5, 33.9, 31.6, 30.1
Lift Week 2 Day 1 (downstairs) kept it light for Friday's meet.
Ice bath at 48 degrees (perfect!) for 10 minutes.
