Exercise Type: Run
Comments:
Earlier in the day, I went on a nice long hike through rock creek park. So, I'm in part counting that as my exercise for the day. When I got home, though, I felt incredibly tired and decided a run would likely help get my blood moving before I go to bed. It did!
I made sure to keep the run short, though, as I am still congested with a runny nose and sore throat. I think I'm on the mend though, so that's good!
I was also incredibly heartened to see Anthony's log from today. I really appreciate that he logs not only his wonderful/rewarding/quick runs (which are awesome to read), but also his frustrating ones. Reading about his frustration with an early season run eased some of the concerns I've had recently. As in, it's okay that I'm running slower and shorter than I was last spring--it isn't a sign of degrading running abilities or some inherent weakness. Instead, it just means that I have many runs to look forward to that will build up my endurance/speed/milage. At the beginning of training, you've got to start somewhere. And it seems some frustration with early season running just comes with the territory and is okay.
