Into the Storm

July 2, 2014 (Night)

Exercise Type: Run

Weather: ~75 degrees, Warm to Rainy

Comments:
So I was going to run after class in New Brunswick, but when I got back to my car, I realized I left my shoes at home. Considering that it was like 95 degrees today, I wasn't thrilled about the prospect of broiling in the farms back home. Until I realized it was supposed to rain later today. So, I waited in my room until I saw my window darken. I saw storm clouds, got changed and sprinted out the door.

Definitely one of the better runs of the summer. Straight away, the temperature was really comfortable, and there was a stiff wind keeping me nice and cool. Even better, the storm clouds were still rolling in, so the entire time I could see lightning and hear thunder closing in. As I came into town for the last couple miles, it started raining, and all hell broke loose. I swear the center of the storm followed me home at the end, the thunder was so loud, and the rain was so intense. I was definitely smiling like an idiot that entire time, confusing the people who happened to be caught out in the mess. Also got to have a nice Shawshank Redemption moment outside of the garage.

After getting back inside, immediately grabbed a Twinkie (shoutout to Benny D and Sergio) and started the process of drying off and doing essentials.
