Exercise Type: Run
Weather: overcast, slight tailwind, ideal conditions
Comments:
6" slower than last year. Almost a full minute slower than two years ago. Needless to say, I'm not happy with this one.
The start was exactly what I didn't want to happen: I lost contact with JA and PP before the lap of Mundy Pond was over. The idea of trying to keep up with CF for the first lap seems utterly foolish now.
However, there are a number of reasons why I may have had such a poor performance.
-being sick for two days earlier in the week and subsequently missing a key workout, not eating for two days
-not enough LT workouts
-not a proper warm up (have to fix this for next time; start 40' before the race.
-getting laid late the night before
I also had a stich for the first time in years. I can still feel the effects.
Some positives though: it was good to push through and this was probably a solid workout.
Fun cooling down with the MUN guys and the dogs on the way back to Mews.
I didn't actually feel bad about the race until I saw my previous times too.
