8x25 swim w/head out (sighting)
200 CD
I started out by myself in a lane, but as time went on, we were up to four people (some very slow). By the time the head out swimming started, it was down to two people. A couple of times I had to go around or wait to avoid collisions which may have affected the times slightly.
Yesterday the substitute coach, Rebecca, suggested that my head was too far in the water causing drag and that I should pull it up a bit (look more forward). So I tried that for most of this workout. It felt a bit strained. I felt like I was not as relaxed as I should have been. But after awhile I didn't notice the strain anymore. My times are a couple of seconds/cy slower than I expected, but I woke up feeling sluggish and tired from a poor night of sleep.
Overall, I feel good about the workout. The 1000y was not as tedious as I expected. I focused on head position, hand position and lap counting.
