Exercise Type: Run
Comments:
This was the snowiest race in a while. Snowed even more last night. Thought that that would deter people from running, but there were lots of people there actually. Not a bunch of IHS people though, just me Matt and Dan Vandam. Race went well though. Didnt have anyone to run with really. I packed up with some locals here and there. I was pacing really well up the hill and along Sunset. The path was all cleared but some people were walking there. Coming down Remington I took it easy, didnt want to overstride and get a stitch. Held a good pace through Stewart Park but honestly my legs started to feel heavy and I started to slow down around the golf course. Got a nice push for the last mile or so in the Bird Sanctuary since a pack caught back up to me. I think I predicted 42:00 (which is around what I ran last year) but went around 2 mins faster this year. Conditions were colder but less wet especially in the Bird Sanctuary. Felt good with the race actually got a good soreness in my legs and had a nice finish. I think I got 13th, where past years Ari and I were always around the 30s. Matt won by a bunch again, didnt have as much competition as previous years.
Essentials: Stretch
Kinda stretched in Activities afterwards. Ran over behind the high school to go to the bathroom. I had to go the whole race but didnt stop. If I had, I would have been awfully close to my predicted time. Got some food and hung around talking to people before driving back home. Glad I got out today in the cold. Pleased with the "race", close to my time from 3 years ago. Happy Thanksgiving everyone :) Eat a lot, watch football, be thankful, and stay cynical. Here is one of my favorite Thanksgiving quotes:
"I celebrated Thanksgiving in an old-fashioned way. I invited everyone in my neighborhood to my house, we had an enormous feast, and then I killed them and took their land." - Jon Stewart
