March 6, 2015 (Morning)
Exercise Type: Run
Comments:
Meeting was winding down, no real interesting talks in the morning. Took our time getting ready but that meant I finally got to fit in a run. Ran after digesting my breakfast a little. It was chilly out. Definitely shorts weather, but had to break out the long sleeve. Everyone else looked so cold. I started out running in front of the Convention Center and making my way to the beginning of the Riverwalk. I then kept going and hooked up with the actual San Antonio River. There is a path that runs all along it for several miles. I just stayed on it and went south and cruized out till I hit 20 mins. It was awesome actually. Sun was out air was fresh and not freezing cold. I hadnt run in a while so my legs were up for it. Also its really pretty and well built up along the river. Kept winding along and made it all the way down to the Lone Star Brewery. I felt great on the way out. As I turned around, I could see the buildings of downtown in the distance, and it was pretty cool. It just felt nice out, like those spring runs in Florida, Virginia, or North Carolina... But this time it was earlier and in Texas! On the way back I slowed the pace a little. I was feeling the distance more. The wind was against me and I was feeling cold. I still felt with the weather like I wanted to run forever. Too bad I had a plane to catch back up to the frigid North...
Essentials: Stretch
Just a quick stretch in the room while we packed up and got ready to go to the airport. I wish we could have done a little more walking around. Today was actually the anniversary of the Alamo! What a coincidence... I went there right before the siege. Long day afterwards with travel back to Amherst. It went smoothly but its just uncomfortable sitting around and schleping around as well. Fortunate that I got in such and awesome run and got to see more of the city.
