Comments:
I went to the Yorktown track at 3pm, driving part of the way so as not to have too long a warmup. With the sun beating down, I knew I was in for an ordeal. I did a full set of drills, but completely forgot to do striders. Too eager on the first one, I scaled back my expectations a bit, and by the fifth one I was dying, and struggling to recover. It would have been better to run those splits in reverse, but I suppose the workout was not a failure. I have never taken so long to recover--and my breathing was terrible. Track workouts alone rarely go well.
