I had easily the worst run of the summer today so far. Sooner or later streaks of good luck and favorable weather must end. I'd planned to do a 20-minute easy warmup, then transition into a comfortably hard steady state run for the remaining 40. Perhaps I should have heeded the signals earlier, but instead I kidded myself during the warmup that everything was alright, that I simply needed to loosen up. With the uphill start on Lee highway by Lyon Village, however, things already took a turn for the worse. 11 minutes later I capitulated to the heat and managed for the rest of the time. The scheduled four bounding drills, and four hill sprints on Monroe added some quality to an otherwise unwise day of training. Crunch/pushup progression for (50, 3)
