August 30, 2015 (Afternoon)

Exercise Type: Run

Comments:
Its official, I am in Half Marathon training mode. Getting back to that Sunday Long Run. Might move it to Saturday since Sunday is gym day, once the gym opens back up. Started out after digesting lunch and playing Borderlands. It was hot in the sun but nice in the shade. My route had both. Started up Lincoln, around campus to the access rd, through North Village, then back on Pleasant and Prospect. Solid loop and I dont usually run out there from home so that was kinda fun. Started out really slow, wanted to work into it and make sure I had enough. "Kinda" sad that a 7 miler is long for me right now when that was standard during the season... Anyways it felt great. For sure picked it up on the way back and felt pretty strong the whole time. Legs were tired near the end but I had the downhill to bring me back in. Very fulfilling. Gets me excited about the race and training, and I think thats what I need right about now. Pretty happy with the pace for the first long, I want to try and race the half consistently, and a little below training pace (7:00-7:15 pace).

Essentials: Stretch, L7, roll

Good stretch outside. Did my fair share of sitting as well. Pretty tired when I got back, legs tired but still feeling good. Upper body feels so weak, like it just gets dragged along. Everything comes together though when you up the mileage and start back in the gym. Town is picking up with people starting to move in for the semester. Why are we starting so late? I feel like kids at Case will start having tests during our syllabus week...
