Exercise Type: Run

Comments:
My goal for this race was to run fast and strong.
I don't really feel like i did either. Except i do feel like i finished strong.

When we warmed up and were at the line they shot the gun and i was like what?! oh we are going! haha i was totally unprepared for that.
In the beginning i got stuck in the huge mob with people kicking the back of you feet and i was totally trapped. I don't think that has ever happened to me, it was not such a great start.

From then on i was passing and getting passed by the same 4 people for the entire race. I was right near Rachael until the first mile then she was gone i could always see her. I was trying so hard to get up to her because i knew if i was with her we could both get each other to keep going, but i never made it to her.

The first mile i think was the worst. That or the part when you come down the canal and think your done BUT haha You still have another loop to go. The first mile i had a super dry throat, and my legs were sore.

The second and third mile i got in to my rhythm and i was feeling better, kinda just ignoring any pain. Just wanting to get it over with.

The end was so amazing! I hit the track along with 3 other girls. One died off right as we got there. But the other two were picking it up. So i did to. Eventually once we got the the curve with just one stride to go the other girl slowed way down or we were just running really fast i don't know which she was just gone. Then me and the last girl full on sprinted to the finish and i passed her!!!! :D That was the most awesome feeling EVER! I felt like i was running in slow motion! Haha. I loved it i could feel my arms and legs moving and i felt like a robot! It was awesome! I was so proud of myself for passing her, usually i have nothing left at the end of a race but this time i did! WOW!
Im never going to forget how good that felt! It was such and amazing feeling! :D

My time for this race last year was 26:12 so i guess i improved, but i was expecting a way faster time. I feel very lucky that we got to run early, i felt bad for the varsity it was so hot when they ran.

I feel like this was an okay race. I want to do a lot better. But i am so happy with my finish :)
