An increase in kinetic energy

April 30, 2016 (Morning)

Exercise Type: Run

Comments:
I couldn't think of any unique titles for this log so I just took the first words I saw in my chem review book. It's actually relevant to our speed workout because kinetic energy is the energy of the motion of particles. The exact definition which I read on dictionary.com is "energy a body possesses by virtue of being in motion". Particles moving quickly have a high kinetic energy. If they go fast enough the bonds can break and they change form into a liquid or gaseous state. That pretty much sums up how I felt during this workout. I started each rep out okay, but as I got towards the end my form would fall apart and I could feeling myself leaning backwards. That was basically the opposite of what I wanted to do. The workout itself was short, but really hard because I was already kind of tired from the long warm-up.

I thought practice started at 9 like it did the rest of the week, but then Emma called me at 8:10 asking why I wasn't there. Apparently it started at 8, but somehow I was the only one who didn't know that. I guess an announcement was made on Thursday and Friday, but I left early on Thursday and I must have been doing something else at the end of practice on Friday. I felt pretty bad because I was suppose to give Lizzy a ride so I caused both of us to be late. The girls still waited for us though and that was nice of them.
