Exercise Type: Run
Comments:
For caldwell i wanted to be able to run faster than i did at jimmy driscoll. My goal was to get atleast 20:15. For the first mile, i felt great the whole time. As i had gotten onto the second mile i remembered what rusty and brice said about making sure to pick up the pace as we got to the second mile so i just tried to pick up the pace and pass other people and get into a group with our the other guys. I remember as we came onto the final stretch of the park, i saw clayton with the megaphone and that just got my mind off of how i didn't want to be running, but it cheered me up somehow and made me smile as i passed. After that i had just started to feel drained really fast, but call it stupid or whatever, but i something that always makes me keep running is thinking about what i have always wanted to be when i get out of school, i always start to just tell myself if i want to be a navy seal, that this pain is nothing compared to what they have gone through to become the reason why they are some of the most elite forces on the planet. But anyways, as i passed the park, i started running past the track and heard a tom petty song, and i just kept thinking of the song, and just kept the beat going in my head and it just kept driving me faster and not have anyone pass me. As i started to go onto the stretch leading to the track, aj caught up to me and i just kept telling him that its the last 300 and that we owned the track and we were only going to pass people and not let anybody pass us and just remember yelling at him to start speeding up at the 250, and then i noticed he had fallen behind at the 200 but by then i was too lost in my own world that i just needed to pass the people in front of me, so as i hit the 150 i was getting near my sprint speed, but soon as i hit that 100 i was already picking out who i was going to pass and started to lengthen my stride at first, then when i got past the people i wanted to pass, i got on the balls of my feet and tried to gain ground so they couldn't take back that placement, and i didn't think i would have him, but about under 15 feet to the finish i passed a centennial kid. Even though i didn't get the time i wanted, i was happy because i did get a way better this time at caldwell than i did last year, by almost 3 minutes. So all in all, it wasn't my best race, but i was still happy about it.
