Halfway Trying

November 6, 2016 (Morning)

Exercise Type: Walk

Weather: ~50 degrees, Lovely running weather

Comments:
So I was supposed to pace the Princeton Half Marathon at 1:50 pace today, but I caught a nasty bug, which kept me from running this week. Since I didn't feel like rolling the dice on today, I volunteered to instead be the cutoff guy at the end. Basically, I told people that they were too slow, and needed to hurry up before the shuttle o' shame picked them up. Overall, pretty fun! I got balloons at the start to help designate my job, but they untied themselves and blew away during a strong gust of wind at mile 6 or so. That was sad. Beyond that, walking at around 14 minute pace for 3 hours hurts like hell. My hips haven't been this sore since lunges at the beginning of the XC season. Or my marathon last year. Painful regardless. I had to run a little bit at the end to get on pace exactly, and my legs felt totally fine. Stupid hip muscles. Next year (if there is a next year), I'm not getting sick.
