Exercise Type: Run
Comments:
Took Levi's advise and slowed down significantly for my run today. Levi said that it would be good for us to have more differentiation between our "steady" runs and our workouts, and that usually, we run at a "steady state" not a steady run. Because of my hamstrings, I decided to go slowly today since most of my steady runs this season have been pretty quick. It felt great. I ran down to the CCT, and ran towards Georgetown. I tried to avoid as many hills as possible because that aggravates my hamstrings, but I inevitably have to run some going in and out of my neighborhood. I felt minimal tightness in the hamstrings, and moderate tightness in the right hip flexor. I really think my hamstrings are starting to get better. I'll plan to do more runs like this one in the future. Veronica told me to avoid "explosive" movements, so I've avoided doing striders this weekend. The one thing that I'm a little upset about is that my hamstring strains are hindering me from getting in the weight room. Hopefully by next week that will change. Staying optimistic.
