March 21, 2017 (Afternoon)
Exercise Type: Run
Weather: Nearly really nice - then downpour
Comments:
After yesterday's shit-show of near-injury, we spent a big chunk of time doing tissue mobility and hip strength. CA and I divided and conquered: she teaching foam and stick mobility to stiff legs, while I demo'd band hip work. We did so on the turf football field in really nice (and mostly sunny weather). Definitely a good call.
But by the time we were ready to run...it started to POUR. Shit! The one day I didn't bring a jacket! It rained pretty hard for a good ten minutes, then - ala Oregon weather schizophrenia - it was sunny again.
Ran easy out and back. On the way back, had to put out a serious injury fire by working with Maddy's calves. BUT I had an epiphany - she's UNDER-using them on easy runs. Once she used 'em - no more "knee wonk"!!! Clutch.
Worked on 4x4 "hand-off strides", including a staged baton-drop, which was a good learning experience!
Fun practice!
PM: one evening patient, then home. Good end to a shiity AM.
