Exercise Type: Run

Weather: i doubled my mileage from last week again hah

Comments:
The route we took to get to Johnson City was not very enjoyable. For some reason instead of just going on the highway and through Owego, we had to drive on hilly backroads the whole way. The meet itself was bigger than I remembered.
The 3k was one of the last events so I had to wait for like 5 hours before starting my warmup. I went up to the baseball field closer to the track and basically ran around it the entire time which actually wasn't too bad. I got back, did drills and strides and put on my spikes (yay!). I wasn't nervous when it started; I just really wanted to get going because it was my first race since NXRs. I think I kinda forgot how to race, or at least what it was like racing the 3k. I wasn't really sure what to expect and after a couple laps I just wanted to be done. When I finally finished I felt less tired than I did on the 3rd or 4th lap.
I guess one good thing is that I'll only improve from here. I know I've been getting better every week since I started running again 6 weeks ago, but I still need to recognize that it will take even more time to get back to where I was last year and improve from there. For my cooldown, I was going to run laps around that baseball field again for 10-15 minutes, but then I kept going up the hill. While I was running, I was debating over whether I wanted to know my time. I kinda did at the time, but now I absolutely do not and think it would be better if I didn't know anyway. I don't think I will run tomorrow because I didn't take any days off last week.
