Ran south a bit to Irving Park & Damen, then north up Damen and over to River Trail. Turned around just before the construction area then ran home, doing an extra loop around the block to end on an even 5.0 miles.
I woke up with minimal-mild achilles tendon discomfort at the bottom part of my heel.  I had this on Thursday morning (yesterday) too.  Today I did eccentric heel drop exercises (flat on floor) - 15 x 3 sets on each leg. I had also taken a rest day yesterday (aside from 90 minute yoga last night) because my legs felt heavy.  
It was pretty hot outside (about 85 degrees), but there was a nice breeze.  I ran at about noon. 
I felt slow and tired.  Afterwards I found myself googling, "Why are my runs getting slower?"
I did not eat before this run, but I ate yesterday.  I don't know why such an easy pace does not feel easy to me, but I guess I'll just keep running.
