Impressive and competitive showing from all who ran today! Really awesome to see all the hopper teams that competed placing well.
For my race, I started off a little ambitious, and then didn't trust myself to go with a couple guys from the Heights that I probably could have run with. Instead, I was alone, se-sawing back and forth with a couple guys (whom I both ended up beating I think) wearing green singlets. I thought I could've raced a little better, but the result wasn't terrible; only about a minute slower than Third Battle last week, and a ninth place finish.
Although I worked out the problems I was having in my calf, I did not hydrate or eat well enough in preparation for this meet. I'm going to need to be very aware of how I'm treating my body this week in preparation for championships. This meet, although it wasn't the most intense competitively, got me very excited for what we can do as a team next week, and how much we've improved since day one.
