Exercise Type: Run
Comments:
Had an awesome time cheering on Hoppers throughout the day. I'm really happy to have seen such great competitive races and so many hardworking but fun-having runners from GDS. I ran decently for how I was feeling. I hit a wall of leg fatigue and heavy breathing at the first turn of the race. I stuck with and traded places a few times with two SAES guys and a Flint Hill guy (either that or Potomac). I tried to let them take me after not thinking that I could sustain a move past them for a large amount of distance. The goal was to pass at the very end, which I was able to do for one of the SAES guys. They all three got substantially ahead of me on the last hill so I was glad that I was able to beat one of them. It was a small victory in a largely disappointing race.
Despite the disappointment that I know we all felt at the end of the race, I had a lot of fun being out at the FARK today and I really realized how much I love this team and Anthony and all the other coaches and running when we were all feeling down at the finish line but I felt pride for being a Hopper and for running alongside the other six boys. I love them and they made me proud. I guess that pretty much sums up how I'm feeling about it right now.
