Getting back into it

November 11, 2018 (Morning)

Exercise Type: Run

Comments:
Went by myself. Needed to clear my head after such an arduous week. I've been sick all week, and haven't run since Tuesday. I shouldn't have even run then--I wasn't better, and it made my sickness worse. I haven't done a run over four miles in almost two weeks and it feels weird. Luckily, being a down week, missing a few short runs is not a big deal. Next week, I hope to be back to 100% and get my mileage back up to 25-30 miles (50% of my fall mileage, which is what everyone else is doing too that didn't race regionals/nationals).

On this run, I ran without hip pain for the first time in over a month. The rest has helped a lot, and changing to shoes that give me more support seems to be helping too. I need to get in a good routine now of strength and stretching and rolling. Calf was really sore after the run, but I think it was from running around yesterday at regionals with crappy shoes on. I can't wait to road trip out to Oshkosh, WI next weekend to cheer at nationals.
