Exercise Type: Run
Comments:
There was a fun little fitness challenge today at the lab. They encouraged everyone to come out and do a mile at lunchtime. There were some runners and mostly walkers. Guillaume and I definitely wanted to join. Warmed up over to the user building and only had a few minutes before the even started. It was a straight shot down Brookhaven rd to the weather station. Did not feel like a mile but the mapping and timing seems right. Also it was nice downhill most of the way. One dude started out quick and pulled ahead by a bunch. Took me a while to get going. I could feel the pace creep in about halfway as we passed CFN, but I really just tried to hold it. I think I picked it up once we passed the lab and I actually saw where the finish was. Nice time for just showing up, legs can still spin if they need to. HR was right on tempo after I finished. We cooled down around on Fifth Ave taking it nice and slow. Finished up where we started, got a snack then walked back to the lab.
Essentials: Stretch
I stretched what I could when we finished. Got our cooldown in right after the race so I wasnt too messed up from that. Definitely feel the pace, not so much in my legs but whole upper body as well. Feels good to get going fast like that.
