DCIAA Invitational

December 7, 2019 (Night)

Exercise Type: Run

Weather: 40's; Cloudy

Comments:
After scrambling to find a ride, Lauren kindly offered to take me to the meet. We drove from NIH and got there just after 5. There, I found out just how terribly this meet was being run. After watching the (stunning) Boys and Girls 800m, I started to think about thinking about warming up. Eventually, after I had joggged around and done moving dynamics, I was told by Lauren's father to check in, so I did, then I finished drills and did striders before it was finally time.

The first lap was a 40. I then overcompensated and had a series of 42's and 44's. The race got a bit boring as I was left to do a lot of work on my own. Still found a good rhythm and held a hard tempo effort. After some dork decided to stop right in front of me after he finished, I kicked with a 36 last lap to cross the line in 11:08. Pretty happy about the time considering where we are in the season. Also, glad to get some experience under my belt going into Thursday.

Congratulations to the Leo on his first 800 and Dora on her first 3200, plus all others who sacrificed their Saturday in order to receive a mark. Today's meet was terribly run and builds character for States in February.
