Exercise Type: Run
Comments:
Out of isolation and into the real world. I didnt get much sleep last night, just subcontiously anxious I guess. It was nice out today, not rain which was good for the move. Everything was turn key, just walked in and got set up. Stretched my legs a little walking down to the store. Feet feel weird in shoes but its good to get some fresh air. I rested a little bit then went out for a run to get back onto the streets. Started out fast, a little too fast probably. The trails are literally out the front gate I can just hop onto miles of park and woods. Its seriously legit. Run through those and you get to campus. Its a little far to walk but a perfect bus or bike ride. There are offshoot trails every 400m or so, more options than I could count. Also a bunch of people out walking and lots of dogs. I felt good on the trails, didnt really know where I was going but kept my orientation. Took a little extra on coming out of the woods. The trails come out right onto Wesbrook Village, which is super developy and comes off as a nice little college town. I only saw it in the dark as I was coming in so its nice to see it during the day. Turned and came back on 16th, the main drag. It ends up being exactly 5mi loop. A little ambitious for me especially since Im off my game past 2 weeks. Coming back, definitely could tell I slowed down and my legs were tired, but I pushed it just happy to be out there. Surprisingly hilly too once you get outside of campus, have to throw in some surges here and there to get up them.
Essentials: Stretch
Just a easy stretch when I got back. Legs will be sore for sure, but I need to take it easy. Getting mileage back under me is number one goal but don't want to startup too fast. I should have plenty of time to get out next few weeks as the holidays come in. Now I need to run and explore each and every direction around town. Theres lots of opportunity around here.
