February 14, 2021 (Morning)
Exercise Type: Run
Comments:
Still snowing this morning. Very nice actually, this is my element. Headed out east to go long, went straight out on 16th. Canadians are way better at clearing the sidewalks than Americans. For example, people in Cleveland didnt give a shit about their sidewalks and we always had to run in the streets after a snow storm. I had a clear path for miles, all the way to Shaughnessy Park. Did a little loop around (very pleasant as they hadnt plowed up there yet) then came down Granville a little so I could cross the street at King Edward. Ran up the greenway and decided to keep going. I was in a good groove and I did not want to slog up the long hill, rather decided the shorter steeper part to just get it over with. Ran to 12th and cut through Kits all the way to Alma. It was very quiet out this morning when I started, but by the time I was coming back, people were starting to get out into the park to make snowmen and go sledding. I think there are stereotypes about west coast but at heart, these are real Canadians who love the snow. Felt much more stable in the slush today. Calves still a little sore but I was able to keep a real good pace throughout, and I felt strong today, glad I added on the extra distance. Made up for going shorter past few days and pushed my limit up.
Essentials: Stretch
Ok stretch when I got back, need to get after it a little more with the roller. Calves still tight honestly. It wasn't all that cold out now, I can feel it warming up. That means we have a mud pit coming up next week, so enjoy the pretty snow while its down on the ground.
