March 28, 2021 (Morning)
Exercise Type: Run
Comments:
Solid long run this morning. Kinda tired when I got up cause it felt cloudy and chilly. Got out there and hit the pavement. Ran straight down 16th all the way to Cambie, then looped down to 19th which winds into 15th which I came back all the way to Lord Byng. Just straight shots on sidewalk or street, trying to stay out of the way of any traffic. Didnt really rain much on my way but it was a little dreary here and there. Felt pretty good, slow starting out but picked up the pace on the way back. Cambie is exactly 4 mi away, and you get a little added on by the zigs and zags. Cambie village looks cool and kitchy, reminds me of Brookline or parts of Cambridge. So sad to see everything shut down, a shell of the past. I think its going to be like that a little bit longer... made me sad, but anyways I just keep plugging along. Coming back up the ridge my calves started to cramp up hard. Made it back fine but I thought I could have even gone longer if my calves were so tight. Run felt like it went by quickly. Endurance is building up
Essentials: Stretch, roll
Had a good stretch when I got back and had to get on the roller. Calves are super tight and sore, especially left one. Must be from the pavement. Hope its not a strain, but probably have to roll and ice more later. Its crazy, but getting most of my weekly mileage in the long run is the way the game is played these days
