Exercise Type: Run
Comments:
Slept in today but didnt feel anymore rested. Brainpower just switched off today on New Years Eve. I really needed a run today. Surprised roads are not cleared at all. They dont look good at all and some of the hills even look pretty tough to get up. Running in the street is tough, people did much better job clearing off their sidewalks. Ran down to 41st to Trafalgar then came back on 33rd. Air was crisp, it was pretty frickin cold my toes went numb real quick, but I can tell the salt is getting to work and I fear this will melt to mud real soon. All we need is a few days above freezing. I held pace as best I could in the uneven footing. Made for a good workout but now legs are pretty sore, especially in hips and hammies. Made it back just before it started to get real dark. I only saw like 7 hrs of sunlight today so its days like this it feels like there is no day to pass.
Essentials: Stretch, roll
Had to roll out a bit when I got back. Still feel sore from the snow. Just not used to it these days. Its nice though. Wrapped up a solid year of miles. Not as many as last year, but I clearly had more time to run. These were quality miles. Had a good routine of getting some exercise during the week then fitting in the runs on the weekend and really proud I got my long run up to 10+ miles. Only really injured once with the sore calf, ill take that. Overall, took a big risk out of my comfort zone to come here and it paid off on the streets. Vancouver is a surprisingly good running city and that's something to be grateful for in what seems like a shitstorm for the rest of society.
