"Nationals"

November 11, 2022 (Morning)

Exercise Type: Run

Weather: 50's; Cloudy

Comments:
Great last hard effort of the XC season. Jogged an extended way to Stockwell for some drills and strides, dropped sweats off in CCRB, and was off. Decided ahread of time that the best route would be the first 5 miles of Maple, starting at Washtenaw/Geddes. I started off somewhat conservatively and even slowed down by second mile. I tried my best to pick up speed on Stadium and not lose too much on the rolling hills on Dexter. Found a good bit of speed last mile and a bit, with a decent kick on the last downhill section. Splits were 5:47, 6:00. 6:02. 5:42, and 5:16. On a road course with some hills and slight elevation loss, this was a 70 second PR. I think that on the nats course I would've been able to get a similar time given that it's flat and I would've had others to push me. Either way, I cooled down to CCRB to grab sweats, jogged extended way back to east, and stretched fully. Long run tomorrow before a down 2 weeks. Will have longer reflection on the season for log tomorrow.
