Exercise Type: Run
Comments:
I really wish I could have slept a little more and recharged but the race was early and I had to run over there. I had a full breakfast and coffee. That was probably my problem yesterday, not eating at the right times. It was cloudy not sure if it was gonna rain or not. Well it did, downpoured like 30 mins before the start. Met Andrew down on Griffiths and just did a standard warm up, honestly not thinking about racing just about running. Different mentality from other years just with the way these past few weeks have been. Started out smooth and on 7 min pace exactly. There were lots of people around me to run with. Kept the pace at 2 and that felt pretty good then just focused on trying to have a good third mile which is where I usually fell off. It was good and once I got to the Erie hill, I shot up and reached at exactly 21 mins. I was so happy with my pace that I decided to call it there and cool down in for the last mile down hill. I was developing a cramp anyways and didnt want to overdo it. By then the roads were slippery and I couldn't really see anything anyways. So the last positive split was therefore intentional. I think I finished way back in comparison to previous years but I ran a much more efficient and structured race. Had a bit of time to walk around and cool down home. I felt really good on the cool down, good sign that I was in my range for the run today.
Essentials: Stretch
Was absolutely soaked when I got home, then legs really started to weaken up. I do need some recovery today and tomorrow. Stretch as great though.
