Sebree Firecracker Run 10k

July 3, 2010 (Morning)

Exercise Type: Run

Weather: sunny, lil humid and warm

Comments:
great weather for my first 10k in over a year. i thought my body responded well. didn't get to do everything in my warm up i wanted to but my legs still felt loose. went 5:40 the first mile, breathing was easy and i felt easy. second mile was 5:51, felt like i was cruisin. the next mile had some hills in it so i maintained at a 5:50 still feelin great. by this time i was out front by myself. ran into some rollin hills and i would throw in surges going down hill and ran the 4th mile at 5:47. pace was easy to maintain so i picked it up the next mile with the rolling hills. 5th mile was 5:31 and i ended the race with a 6:45 1.25 mile finish which is a 5:24 mile. it speaks wonders that my last mile was my quickest. i probly could have ran closer to 35 flat or in the 34's. it's alright i still have to make it to december. i was very impressed with this race both the way i performed and the way it was handled. plenty of water stops, had to skip some, and the traffic is never a problem out here. also gettin a big trophy for the overall winner isn't bad as well. this is why i hate missing this race.
