Comments:
My goal: to get a time that would get be on Varsity, which I did.
Race breakdown
Mile 1: I kinda just ran.
I wasn't sure how to pace my self so I just ran.
Mile 2: I noticed there was a guy from another team that kept showing up beside me so I decided to stick with him. He kept me going at a pace that was comfortably hard/on the verge of being too hard.
Mile 3: I stayed with the guy for most of the race. Near the end I started to pick it up a bit, leaving the guy behind but when I hit the track I hit a wall. I was trying to kick it in gear, but I couldn't find the clutch. The guy I had been with passed me and a person from his team too. I couldn't match his speed and he left me behind. I finally found the extra gear at the last 100 meters. I may have found the gear, but I didn't seem to be going as fast as I normally do at that point. I almost caught up to his teammate.
What I did good: I stuck with the guy for most of the race and got a PR!
What I could have done better: I should have been able to match that guy's speed if not gone faster than him
Over it was a good race and I'm looking forward to the next one
Life is a race, except you don't want to finish first!
