Newtown Battlefield

September 18, 2010 (Morning)

Exercise Type: Run

Weather: a little sunny, good cool weather

Comments:
last night i had a bunch of pasta and took a hot tub to loosen the legs, then got 8 hours of sleep minus the several times that i woke up randomly. then i had a bagel and a muffin in the morning, along with water and some of a wegmans smoothy (not good/ really sugary without real fruit) then we got on the bus and we warmed up at 10:10. we jogged around and cheered then stretched and then jogged and stretched for real. then we went to the start line, and the race was delayed 10 minutes: 11:20. we did speed d and then a few second before the race started, i looked forward at the course, and i felt completely tired and didnt want to race, which has never happened before. i started out in about 30th, then made my way up to 5th right before the mile mark (5:00 mile). then i dropped back a bit with zack, and from there i was falling back on flats and uphills, but i was catching up extremely fast on downhills which made up for that. most of the race i was subconsiously waiting for zack to pass me, instead of looking forward toward austin. i felt like i was very painfully jogging most of the race. the last dowhill came and i passed about 6 people (including cory and shaun kurkoba), but then they passed me back on the uphill. i didnt walk at all but i was going about walking pace most of the uphill. at the end started my kick at a good time and then passed a guy right before the finish. i was extremely dissapointed in my race when i finished, but then i got cheered up when i found out ryan got first, which was great for the team. we didnt get to do much of a cooldown but tomorrow we will run before the course cleanup
