Exercise Type: Run
Comments:
About 3 miles into the run my shin started to hurt. Same one that I fractured. Talked to Coach. I'm not running all weekend. Gotta go see the trainer.
Its not the same pain or place as when I had my fracture (this is a little lower along the shin bone) and doesn't inhibit my running, but it is slightly noticeable when I run. I've been busting my ass in workouts on really low mileage. I think this is just my body fighting back. I was aware that this might happen, I was hoping it wouldn't, but its okay.
I can run, I can race, I'm just not going to now. I did that last year and it killed me. I ran until I literally could not run anymore. I'm not doing that this year. I'm going to take a step back, take a few days off (more if necessary) see the trainer or even the doctor and get this checked out. Like I said, this is no surprise considering the increased intensity in practices.
This was the original plan anyways. Race CMU, take All-Ohio off, then race Oberlin and so on. Unfortunately, I didn't think I'd missing All-Ohio because of injury.
Its disappointing more than anything; however, I will say this...no one cross-trains better than me. NO ONE.
