February 11, 2011 (Afternoon)
Exercise Type: Run
Weather: B-W indoor track
Comments:
Ran the mile like crap, tried to negative split but went out slower than planned and couldn't pick up. The thousand felt like a workout interval. The 4x4 was a blast, especially since I was the anchor leg. Charlie led off, Jarred was second, Nate Smith ran a great leg (the fastest of the day) before handing off to me. I split 28.9/33.1 so that wasn't great, but given that it was my third race of the day and it's still a PR, I'm happy.
Also, Coach Rubin definitely seemed a little too happy to be announcing things when the meet was over and came up with a great name for B-W's indoor track: "the jaundice dome". For those of you who haven't been there, ALL the lighting is the yellow-orange of typical streetlamps and everything is yellow. Very yellow.
In other news, my knee didn't hurt today which is a pleasant change. Hopefully that pain-free-ness will become the status quo again, but I'd rather take it easy for a little while. Thanks to those who came and watched and congrats to those who did well today, especially Peter who dropped 8 seconds(!) to a 4:35 PR in the mile and Thea with a PR 19:30 in the 5k.
