Back home, and it is freezing out. WTF its summer! Anyways had a tough workout today. I had to do it alone since the high schoolers have 3 meets this week and they arnt really doing workouts. I went down before school got out to do it on my own.
Legs were feeling good today. Did a few laps on the track and a Boynton mile for warm up. On the last lap, went and put up hurdles on the back stretch and barriers on the home stretch. There was a dead fish on the home stretch too. I have absolutely no idea how it got there... After setting up, did drills, over unders, spiked up and got some striders in.
I didnt start on the finish line so I could get in the first barrier on the turn. It worked out well. the workout was 8 x 400 at race pace, 45 sec rest and 50-80 m kickers every other one. The kickers were tough, but the point was to imagine finishing a race. I think they helped a lot. Splits were.

I was clipping those off nicely. The wind was tough on the back stretch, and I did hit one hurdle. Coming around the turn I poured it on and came through well on the last barrier. I was pretty tired, and the kickers were making me more tired. After each one, I walked back to the line, and by then it was time to start. Still kept upright, and hit most of the hurdles right on rather than stutter. I felt proficient. WOuld have been nice for someone to be there... I am glad I have one more shot before rapping it up until next year. If I can just get through and realize I got it under control, there is no telling who I can keep up with.
Changed shoes, cooled down to Court St and back Linn, then another Boynton Mile. The buses were starting to leave and stuff, so I stretched, rolled, L7 and pushups near the tennis courts out of the way. I am tired today, but legs feel fine. Knee is fine too. Ill be on a plane most of tomorrow, so ill just do a shake out run tomorrow, then whatever coach has lined up.
Stopped by and talked to some of the guys on the team briefly. Most of those kids looked so little, and I didnt know them. Shoot.
