Weather: Beautiful, low 50s sunny
Comments:
It was a tough race. Like any UAA race. I had a decent start. Right behind Ethan and C Kells. I didn't make the move at around the 1.5 mile marker to stay connected to Ethan. I was starting to worry about the hill and how much it would take out of me the next four times up it. Although I let him and Paul Curtiss pull ahead a bit. I didn't slow down. I maintained my position throughout most of the race while passing a few people as well. It was a very tough mental race since I knew I was running against national-caliber runners. I kept my head as quiet as possible and pushed through a lot of uncomfortable parts of the race. I also finished the last 600 strong. Not allowing anyone to pass (which usually happens) and passing a Chicago guy right before the finish that was at least 15 seconds ahead at the 600meter mark. Overall, it was a good race. Not my smartest/best. But I knew I had pushed myself close to my limits.
