SPFD out and back

February 17, 2013 (Morning)

Exercise Type: Run

Weather: sunny, but...cold?

Comments:
Weird day.

Had a sad dream last night: dreamt that I ran into Britt again and: 1.) either I got back together with her, and it didn't work, or 2.) she wanted to get back together with me, and I wouldn't. I don't remember a ton of details, but what I remember was that I was running over the Siskiyous on a trail while she drove away on I-5 - us paralleling each other for a while - as I ran south into California.

Woke up feeling really, really sad...

Slept in, but woke up with a headache. Huh. Ate breakfast, then decided to be productive, so I figured I'd "spend an hour" cleaning out boxes and getting rid of shit, as Phase 1 (of 83) of the great move-on of 2013. Wound up spending nearly 5 hours! Found a multitude of things, including: anniversary cards from Britt (which were double-sad, because of the dream, but I still sadly tossed), super-old pictures, old coaching stuff. I junked/recycled nearly all of it. It's time to purge. Also went through the clothes and donated a box of stuff I'm not wearing (I'm notorious for wearing, like, 5 things). By the time I cleaned it out and put it all back together (including a run to donate), it was after 3PM.

Thought I was gonna roll a two hour, uptempo 2nd half run. It was sunny and nice, and I was looking forward to it, but my energy was...off. Got out there - with only a long sleeve and no hat/gloves, very uncharacteristic of me - and I was miserable. First, it was cold. The sun didn't do much, and it was going west. And it was breezy. And...I think I'm getting sick. I felt cold, and shitty! For zero reason, I had to deuce twice on the run, which sucked.

Stride felt good, going east into Alton, then into SPFD, but halfway through, I got tired of the cold and the gut-rot, and turned back. Oh well. I'm really glad I did, because I felt run-down by the time I got back. Sheesh.

Could've been allergies, but I took a claratin right before I left...I figured it would've kicked in. Oh well...know when to hold 'em, know when to fold 'em...
