Exercise Type: Run
Comments:
Very leisurely morning, then went for a run, first with Billy, then ending with my mom.
Found a loop going west into this little town of Long Beach (we were technically in its outskirts). Thought it might've been 3-ish, turned out to be 3.6: first on the beach highway, then inland through "downtown" Long Beach, then right along the railroad tracks. However we ran out of road and wound up doing a bit of trail --> no trail/ditch running for about 600m, before returning to frontage road.
Pretty solid loop. Billy, a senior in HS, got us out hard (low 7s?), but by a mile in had slowed to 8+. He really struggled the last mile+, but he's been sick.
We did about 31:30 for that lap (8:30 pace?).
I went two more laps on my own: 24:00, and 23:15, felt GOOD! Then came back and did a 2.5 mile loop w/my mom.
A solid 12-miler with nice pacing in the middle! Feels good to run fast without a ton of effort!
