Beer-less hunt!!

April 23, 2013 (Night)

Exercise Type: Run

Weather: nearly 70? No shirt!

Comments:
Weird hunt tonight -- NO ONE BROUGHT BEER! Usually we casually plan it: whoever hasn't brought it in a while will own up and get it. Today...no one did ! HA! Left from Craig's. With no beer, we didn't have a bonafide leader, but I wound up running out front for the bulk of it.

Ran down from Craig's to the Rexius trail, to Headwaters, then up Powerline to the very top of Baldy. Felt pretty good and efficient on the climbs; a bit worn from the tempo. R heel was bothering me, so I stopped to wiggle and stretch it at the top.

Ran Dillard Ridgeline segment, then down Headwaters. Did x10 pull-ups (x31 total today), then fairly easy back to the house. With no beer, we drove over to Highlands (3 blocks away) and had 50c tacos and pitchers of beer. Fun, but it was less fun than being at Craig's and talking about weird shit...it was a bit too conventional.

The guys asked a lot of questions about diet again tonight. There's interest because I mentioned the Noakes talk about low carb/high fat = less heart disease (both Lewis and Dan have high cholesterol). But I also feel like they think I ran fast because of low carbing. I don't think they realize how I've finally gotten my stride shit together (for NOW). That was, by far, the most important element of my good run at Sonoma.
