June 14, 2009 (Morning)
Exercise Type: Run
Weather: 60s, sneaky-humid
Comments:
Pretty tough long run.
Felt shitty this AM after the several SILOS of Coors Light I had last night. :| Started the run around 0900, keeping it nice and easy. The legs felt a little trashy from the Friday track session, but otherwise fine.
Ran along Fairmount to South Eugene/Rexius, and then UP Dillard to Ridgeline. I hadn't done this loop since 2001 and I forgot how LONG the uphill climb was. Good hill-running practice, though.
Felt tired/dehydrated already on top of Ridgeline. I brought along a Clif Shot and had that around 10 in, and that probably saved me from crushing death later on.
The trails on Ridgeline were MINT and very cool, but short-lived. Before I knew it I was hammering down Willamette back into town. I took some side routes to wind up back at Amazon. Did the circumscription only, then took Hilyard back.
Got 2 water stops in at Amazon, which helped, but by the time I got to Pre I was HURTING. My pace was fine, but I was bonking due to not enough water, energy and/or SALT. I thought I was dragging ass but I timed a 6:10 pace in the last mile.
Walked it in from D street after hitting 2:06 on the watch: a legit 18!
Pretty tired the rest of the morning/afternoon but came around by evening. Went with the roomies and a couple others to "The Hangover" at VRC. KEY MOVIE. Coupla beers afterwards was all it took to get HAMMERED. Wow.
