SEHS "Placer Point-twos"

Legs felt good today after the massage. Good morning of work, but busy. Dropped the car off today - needed new axles - $530!! Fuck! I've sunk $1000 into the car in the past month. MFer better last like 3 more years!!!

Like a year ago - reminded by BGD - I did 3x300m pick-ups. Just enough to feel like work, but not very taxing. I remember being SOOO TIRED and stiff last year at this time, and seeing those old fucking guys out there running 50! AND, how much of a struggle it was to break 50, myself.

Today, jogged just shy of two miles to the track, did a bunch of dynamic stretches/drills, then a lap of strides. Stride felt $$$ today! That new exercise is terrific at maxing power out of the R leg. That was the big focus - strong R hip/trunk, no calf overload.

Wasn't focused on a time today - I thought, "OK, I'll go fast, but I'm not going to force it - won't care whether it's a 49 or a 54 - I'll just gradually cut 'em down".

"Form-focused!"

Ran the first one and thought, "Huh, this is a little tiring!". 48.5! Woah!

Rested/drillz for 2ish minutes, then did two more. The last one I pushed more in the first 100m, and was sure to focus on the "crouch" (the more fatigued/challenged, the higher the likelihood of "standing up" in the stride!!). Cut a sub 48.

Awesome.

Good week. I'm excited. Not nervous.
